On May 12, I co-hosted the Women Transforming Social Impact networking event at the JW Marriott in Denver to promote collaboration, communication, and connection within the Gender Lens space.  Dr. Stephanie Gripne of Colorado Impact Initiative and Days was my co-host. I am deeply passionate and committed to creating systemic change concerning who has access to affordable capital, who the gatekeepers are and activating more women investors.

The enthusiasm and excitement was much more than we had anticipated; so we had to move to a larger location to accommodate the demand As a result, we had to ask for help; and we are grateful to those who helped us sponsor the event: Capital Sisters International, Veris Wealth Management, Principium, and Investor's Circle.   The format was designed to include short programming to provide information about bonds, donor advised funds, leveraged assets, and direct investing. A special thank you is due to our rockstar panel of speakers: Patricia Foley Hinnen, Kate Reinemund, Donna Morton, and Bonny Moellenbrock for describing financial tools available for impact and for inspiring attendees to learn more.  If you weren’t able to attend the event or just want access to the presentation, you can view it here.

We had an amazing turnout of entrepreneurs, impact investors, aspiring investors and the philanthropic community. Thank you again to everyone who attended!

Overwhelmingly, the feedback we’ve received about the event is that people want more.  Over 150 women and men came to learn more about the Gender Lens space and how they can get involved. You want to act. PeakChange wants to help you.

Stay Involved

Our next event will be co-hosted with Suzanne Biegel on July 26th to share the amazing work of Women Effect. Learn about a global community of sophisticated investors and philanthropists - men as well as women - engaged in a radical, action-focused collaboration designed to accelerate the impact of the women effect around the world.  Women Effect amplifies the connections between individuals and across networks, and brings new voices to the table. The resulting conversations are bigger, bolder, and full of new opportunities.

Of course, we’re not the first or the only people talking about this issue.  But we’re trying to combine multiple efforts in an innovative way that pushes the dialogue forward and allows new voices to be heard. PeakChange has set up a place where people can provide their individual input, see our joint progress, provide feedback on our collaborative ideas, and help amplify our collective effort to a larger audience at scale. Importantly, we want to know what you need in order to engage in impact investing, how you would like to take action, and how we can help you.
