Impact Speed Dating in a Statewide Marketplace

Impact Investing was a descriptive term coined a little less than a decade ago (by the Rockefeller Foundation) to describe an ecosystem that enables, accelerates, and harnesses both private and public markets for social good. Since then, the field has exploded; and Colorado is a leader in the impact space. Yet, many investors and philanthropists are still hesitant to get their feet wet in social venture deals, despite the growing influence of this investment sector.

Accredited impact investors, foundations, and family funds have varying degree of experience and comfort investing in social ventures. CO Impact Days encourages all members of the impact community to “Learn. Connect. Invest.”

On March 2-4, CO Impact Days launches the first-of-its-kind effort to create a statewide marketplace for impact investing; identifying, connecting, and celebrating Colorado's top social ventures and impact investors from the Western Slope to the Front Range. CO Impact Days will bring together Colorado’s top 60 social ventures, 200 impact investors, and 500+ community members at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts.

CO Impact Initiative, created by the Impact Finance Center and led by Dr. Stephanie Gripne and a steering committee of community leaders, is a 3-year strategy to elevate and accelerate impact investing in Colorado. The Initiative intends to catalyze the flow of $100 million in investment capital into Colorado social ventures that deliver positive impact on the state’s communities, economy, and natural environment. Jim and Melanie Davidson are members of the CO Impact Initiative Founders Circle.

To make a donation to CO Impact Days click here. You can also participate by voting for 2016 CO Impact Days People's Choice Award on Facebook. The social venture with the most likes will have the opportunity to pitch on the stage during the showcase.

PeakChange is a fiscal sponsor of CO Impact Days. Come join us for a coffee break on Friday, March 4th. Melanie will be speaking on a Gender Lens investing panel you won’t want to miss. Jim, Melanie, and I look forward to connecting and collaborating with policymakers, foundations, family offices and social ventures at CO Impact Day events. We hope to see you there.
